UTT Strengthens Its Leadership Role in the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent Development, Supporting High-Quality Human Resource Development for Kien Giang University and the Mekong Delta Region
On 02 June 2026, a delegation from the University of Transport Technology (UTT) attended the Conference on the Signing of the Cooperation Regulations between the Truth National Political Publishing House and Kien Giang University in An Giang Province. The event provided an opportunity for UTT to reaffirm its leading role in the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent Development in Transport Technology and Advanced, Smart Infrastructure, while expanding cooperation in developing high-quality human resources for Kien Giang University and the Mekong Delta region.

Attending the programme were Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, former Member of the Politburo and former Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Trong Lam, Director and Editor-in-Chief of the Truth National Political Publishing House; Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Le Trung Ho, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang Province; Mr. Mai Van Huynh, former Deputy Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee and former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee of Kien Giang University; Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Rector of Kien Giang University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University of Transport Technology, along with representatives of several higher education institutions.

Within the framework of the programme, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University of Transport Technology, affirmed that UTT, in its role as the leading institution of the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent Development in Transport Technology and Advanced, Smart Infrastructure (Kien Giang University is one of the 28 member institutions participating in the network), stands ready to support Kien Giang University in developing highly qualified personnel, particularly in postgraduate education, establishing research groups, and enhancing international publication capacity.
To concretize this cooperation orientation, UTT is prepared to offer full scholarships to at least 10 doctoral candidates from Kien Giang University to pursue doctoral programmes at UTT in appropriate disciplines and fields. The University is also willing to collaborate in supervising and transferring advanced talent development training programmes, co-supervising doctoral candidates and research topics, supporting the establishment of research groups, enhancing international publication capabilities, and implementing joint science and technology projects between the two universities.

The UTT delegation presents a commemorative gift to Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung, former Member of the Politburo and former Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
During the working visit to An Giang Province, the delegation also visited and offered incense at the tomb of Martyr and Hero of the People's Armed Forces Phan Thi Rang (Chi Su). The activity reflected the Vietnamese tradition of "remembering the source when drinking water", expressing gratitude to previous generations while contributing to fostering revolutionary traditions, social responsibility, and aspirations for contribution among the University's staff members.
