UTT Signs Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement with Kien Giang University to Promote Education, Scientific Research and High-Quality Human Resource Development

As the lead institution of the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent in Advanced Transport Technology and Smart Infrastructure under Decision No. 374/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister, on 09 October, the University of Transport Technology (UTT) signed a Cooperation Agreement with Kien Giang University (KGU) - one of the 28 member institutions of the Network, to concretize cooperation activities and strengthen collaboration in education, scientific research, technology transfer and high-quality human resource development.

Attending the signing ceremony, representatives from Kien Giang University included Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Rector; Dr. Do Le Binh - Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; M.A. Vu Xuan Huyen - Deputy Head in charge of the Office of Cooperation, Science and Technology.

Representatives from the University of Transport Technology included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector; Dr. Tran Thanh An - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Thanh Huong - Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation; Dr. Ngo Quoc Trinh - Head of the Academic Affairs Office; Dr. Nguyen Long Khanh - Director of the Institute of Education and International Cooperation; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thai Binh - Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Science and Transport Technology, Deputy Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Cooperation.

Speaking at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Transport Technology, affirmed that, as the lead institution of the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent in Advanced Transport Technology and Smart Infrastructure, UTT is always ready to work alongside the Network’s member institutions, including Kien Giang University, to develop high-quality human resources, enhance scientific research capacity and promote technology transfer.

Representatives of the leadership of the two universities signed the cooperation agreement, agreeing to implement comprehensive cooperation activities in education, science and technology, and human resource development.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the University of Transport Technology and Kien Giang University will strengthen cooperation in education, scientific research, technology transfer and high-quality human resource development. The two universities will collaborate in doctoral training, the transfer of advanced training programmes, the establishment of research groups, the implementation of science and technology projects, the organization of scientific conferences and seminars, and the sharing of learning resources and facilities for education and research. In particular, UTT will provide full scholarships to at least 10 doctoral candidates from Kien Giang University to participate in doctoral programmes at UTT in relevant disciplines and fields; at the same time, the two universities will collaborate in supervising doctoral candidates, organizing academic exchange programmes, study visits and field trips to factories and advanced technical infrastructure construction sites for lecturers and learners, strengthening connections among experts, and promoting research cooperation and international publications.

The signing ceremony marks an important milestone in concretizing the activities of the Network of Centers of Excellence and Talent in Advanced Transport Technology and Smart Infrastructure, while continuing to affirm UTT’s leading role in connecting, supporting and developing its member institutions. Through the cooperation agreement, the two universities expect to maximize their respective strengths, contributing to improving the quality of education, scientific research, technology transfer and high-quality human resource development, thereby meeting the development needs of the country in general and the Mekong Delta region in particular.
